a PhD stipend

is available to work on long non-coding RNA in transcriptional regulation in human.
 
The group is working on characterizing long non-coding RNAs in transcriptional regulation in human. A special focus is on the role of long non-coding RNAs and the functional overlap with transcriptional enhancers (0rom et al. Cell, 2010). The genome-wide involvement of long noncoding RNAs in transcriptional networks is another major topic of the group. The successful candidate will explore long non-coding RNA expression and function through large-scale sequencing, molecular biology and cell culture work. Additional, the establishment of interaction networks through chromosome conformation capture related methodologies will be addressed.
 
Qualifications:
Candidates should have a strong background in molecular biology or similar, and preferentially experience with working in a wet-lab. An interest in RNA biology and the desire to learn new techniques are required.
 
The stipend is available for two years with the possibility of prolongation.
