Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) Retail Marketing & Service Management (100%)
The University of St. Gallen and its School of Management is seeking an Assistant Professor (tenure track) in the area of Retail Marketing and Service Management. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Retail Marketing, or a directly related field such as Management, Psychology or Marketing. Candidates are expected to have experience in quantitative research methods such as experimental research (lab, field, and online experiments) and/or new interdisciplinary techniques in retail research. The professor will be part of the Institute of Retail Management (IRM), which represents the University’s research activities in the areas of retailing, marketing and channel management. The position involves teaching in both German and English at all levels, with an emphasis on classes dealing with a digitally transforming retail landscape.
The triple accredited (AACSB, AMBA, EQUIS) University of St. Gallen offers a stimulating research environment and a large network of partner companies. We are looking for candidates with both the potential to publish in internationally recognized and leading retail, service management, or social science journals, as well as excellent teaching skills. Ideal candidates should address the challenges of a digitally transforming society as evidenced by the candidate’s research program and innovative teaching methods. Experience in the acquisition of third-party funding is desirable and support of activities at the Institute of Retailing mandatory.
