vacancy:
Assistant Professor in Business Process Management (without Tenure Track) 75%
The position is located at the Hilti Chair of Business Process Management held by Professor Jan vom Brocke.
Research and teaching at the Hilti Chair focus on various aspects of Business Process Management, including
capability areas such as strategic alignment, governance, methods, information technology, people, and
culture. Our ambitions are to publish relevant and rigorous research in top-tier academic journals, to provide
service to our community, and to develop and maintain an extensive industry network.
We are looking for individuals with a Ph.D. in Information Systems, Management Science, Business
Administration, Computer Science, or closely related disciplines; a proven track record of research at
international standards, teaching experience; and a passion for BPM research and education.
You are expected to develop research agendas, conduct impactful research, publish the results from this
research in international top journals, collaborate in international academic networks, actively contribute to
the acquisition of funding for research projects, collaborate with industry partners, and to teach BPM
courses at the undergraduate and graduate level. You are highly motivated, you have experience in the
rigorous application of theories and empirical research methods, and you want to contribute to shaping the
future of our research group.

The vacancy is a position with an initial appointment for three years and the possibility for extension for
another two years. Knowledge of the German language is not essential, but candidates are expected to learn
