Technical University of Munich (TUM) and the Fraunhofer Research Institution for Microsystems and Solid State Technologies EMFT jointly invite applications for the position of
of »Micro- and Nanosystems Technology«
in combination with
at Fraunhofer EMFT
to begin in winter semester 2020/21. The position is a tenured W3 position.
The professorship belongs to the TUM Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Together with further professorships, it
shall build up a focus area for Sensors and Sensor Systems and strengthen TUM's expertise in this field. The cooperation with
Fraunhofer EMFT will enable research to be conducted at the interface between novel sensors, sensor concepts and their integration into systems on the one hand and the subsequent industrial production process on the other.
The responsibilities include research and teaching as well as the supervision and promotion of young scientists, including participation in the TUM's Bachelor and Master programs.
As Co-Director at Fraunhofer EMFT your responsibilities include the scientific and corporate management and development of the
institution within the Fraunhofer model and the Fraunhofer overall strategy. In addition to the thematic orientation of the research,
you will be responsible for project acquisition and management, the transfer of results to industry and human resources management. Your thematic focus is on silicon technologies and their applications.
We are looking for an expert in the research field of micro- and nanosystems technology with a focus on silicon technology and
process integration as well as sensor design and integration. You have a high scientific reputation and have proven your outstanding achievements in research and teaching and have developed an internationally recognized research program.
You have several years of management experience in interdisciplinary research groups, experience in strategic planning, acquisition and implementation of national and international research and development projects in various business areas, as well as skills
in increasing the efficiency of development processes and in technology exploitation. International research and teaching experience and/or experience in international projects and science policy networking are advantageous.
