Call for Proposals:
Junior Research Group "Digital Methods and Research Quality" in the topic area Research Quality and Open Science
Reference: Rf. 313
We are looking for an outstanding early career researcher, national or international, who has already gathered profound scientific experience after their doctorate and who would now like to assume the leadership for a Junior Research Group at one of the Berlin University Alliance’s partner institutions.
The hereby advertised Junior Research Group “Digital Methods and Research Quality” will provide, over a funding period of four years, a theoretical and empirical framework with regard to the relation of digital methods and infrastructures to research quality. The digitization of the research process does not only concern the technical dimension of automatically generated data, data collections and the integration of data and their validation in digitally conducted experiments or surveys. It also touches questions on aspects such as the evaluation, reflexivity and further development of digital approaches and their interactions with the research process itself. With the aim of contributing to the continuous improvement of research quality, problems of data governance, especially with regard to the legally compliant usage of digital methods and the subsequent use of data over a multitude of disciplines and research questions will be brought into focus.
The Junior Research Group is staffed with a postdoctoral group leader and additional scientific and non-scientific personnel. (conf. „Facts“). Material costs amounting to 20.000 Euro per year can be asserted. The call addresses researchers of all disciplines.
