The Faculty of Economics and Management at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano invites applications for PhD Scholarships that cover the entirety of our 4-year program (4 positions out of a total of 5 positions), commencing in

PhD Program in Economics and Finance
Our 4-year full-time PhD program combines one year of methodical and theoretical courses with additional individualized training modules as recommended by the supervisor depending on the specific research interests and objectives of the PhD student. Topic-specific individual tutoring and mentoring, as well as funding for research stays abroad are special components of our program
PhD students will be introduced to specific research areas of the faculty, including Economic Policy Analysis, Financial Markets and Regulation, and Quantitative Methods and Analysis of Big Data, and have the opportunity to be engaged in corresponding research projects. Our international faculty provides a variety of research opportunities. Furthermore, the excellent language center of the university and Bolzano's truly intercultural environment will help to advance international career opportunities for committed PhD candidates.
It is our aim to provide our PhD students with many opportunities to pursue their research interests, to develop and maintain important own networks, and experience the life of a young scholar on a truly international level in order to help them starting a successful academic career.
Requirements:
Graduated with honors preferably in Economics and/or Business Administration or a related Master degree programs (2 years; 300 CPs).
Demonstrated proficiency in English (spoken and written).
We seek not only highly talented candidates with an outstanding performance record, but individuals that are motivated, self-disciplined, and that possess a high degree of social skills and sense of responsibility.
The successful candidates will be expected to become residents of South Tyrol during the 4-year period of the scholarship and contribute actively to our dynamic and inter¬national research environment.
What we offer:
We provide seven four-year fellowships (approx. 17.000 € p.a.), which allow prospective PhDs to dedicate 100% of their time to their research interest. In addition, each PhD student will have a personal budget for choosing specialization courses at national and international institutions and participate in international conferences.
Apart from monetary incentives, we offer individual mentoring by engaged faculty at a University that is located in the capital city of South Tyrol, which is among the wealthiest regions in Italy and the European Union and even more importantly has a rich history and impressive natural monuments close by.
Depending on your personal desires and career expectations we will help you to develop the necessary expertise and skills for a successful career in academia, research institutions, top management consulting, government agencies, or international corporations.
