for the topic "Mathematical modelling and identification of self-organizing biomimetic systems"
The position is to be filled as soon as possible, limited to three years with the possibility of extension.
The advertised position is embedded into the joint research project MaxSynBio, sponsored by the Max Planck Society, and by the German Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF). The overall objective of MaxSynBio is the rational synthesis of functional biological systems from molecular modules (bottom-up synthetic biology approach). Scope of Duties:
Formulation, implementation, and simulation of mathematical models of biological systems
Model identification from experimental data provided by partners within the MaxSynBio project
Support of the partners‘ experimental work by Optimal Experimental Design methods
hold a master‘s degree in the engineering or natural sciences, preferentially in Biosystems Engineering, System Sciences, Technical Cybernetics, Physics, or related disciplines with grades above average
have strong interest in system-theoretical approaches
have strong communication skills and motivation for a close cooperation with experimentalists
Knowledge and experience in Systems Biology, Biophysics and Biochemistry will be an advantage.
