Interactions in the rhizosphere of special crops
The professorship belongs to the Department of Plant Nutrition and Soil

between special crops (grapevines, fruit and vegetable crops) and
microorganisms in the rhizosphere with molecular and analytical tools.
The candidate is expected to develop new research strategies on the
sustainable and efficient cultivation of special crops based on knowledge
about the importance and the composition of the rhizobiome. Fundamental
understanding of microbiological ecology and the underlying processes in
nutrient cycling as well as experience in microbiome analysis and bioinformatic
data evaluation are required. Teaching responsibilities are within the
field of nutrient uptake processes, physiology of plant-soil interaction, and
nutrient balance and uptake efficiency. Teaching load includes courses in
German and English taught bachelor and master programs with 4 - 6 hours

We seek to appoint a junior scientist with excellent potential for high
standard national and international research on the above listed topics.
A university degree and an outstanding doctoral degree or equivalent
scientific qualification in biological and agricultural sciences or related
fields is required.
For this position, we expect pedagogic aptitude, including the ability to
teach in German and English. First experiences with the acquisition of
