The Faculty of Arts of the University of Bonn is seeking to fill the position of a
W 2 Professorship for Contemporary Art
and Digital Image Cultures
at the Department of Art History at the earliest opportunity.
We are in search for an internationally active candidate (m/f/d) with a
practice and commitment in Contemporary Art and Digital Image Cultures,
especially with a focus on Art in the context of new media (photography, video,
performance, net and computer art etc.) and Social Media. (International)
networking, especially with museums and research institutions, is expected.
Expertise in the field of digital humanities with reference to visual and
artistic dimensions, Contemporary Art and image theories as well as Global
Contemporary Art is desired.
Intensive collaboration in the BA and MA programmes (Art History;
Museum Studies) and programmes in cooperation with other universities,
in administrative and committee work, as well as initiative and participation
in third-party funding, research projects and the digitisation strategies of the
Faculty of Humanities are also expected.
Application requirements are a relevant PhD and habilitation or habilitationequivalent
achievements in the field of art history, preferably in one of the
above-mentioned focal points, as well as teaching practice.
Prerequisites for employment are in accordance to Section 36 Higher
Education Act NRW.
