Bard College Berlin is a liberal arts college in the heart of Europe that offers students from all over the world interdisciplinary undergraduate education in the humanities and social sciences and the chance to earn a dual German and American BA degree. It was founded in 1999, and became part of the Bard international network – including partner universities in Russia, Kyrgyzstan, and Palestine – when it merged with Bard College New York in 2011. The student body consists of 270 students from 60 countries and is a community that is exceptionally international and intensely diverse in terms of geography, culture, class, and economic background.

Professorship of Politics (Public Policy)
Bard College Berlin invites applications for a Professorship of Politics (W2/Associate Professorship level) from September 2021. Applications are invited from candidates with a background in Public Policy and Policy Analysis. A comparative research focus on country contexts in the Global South is desirable, as well as an interest in the history and development of the social sciences. Extending and consolidating a network of connections to Berlin academic, political and non-governmental institutions (to facilitate internship placements as well as cooperation partnerships in teaching and research) is an essential part of the professor’s role.
Candidates must have a PhD degree, an excellent track record in research and teaching, and an interest in liberal arts education. An initial contract of four years (at W2 German salary scale) will be tenured on successful evaluation. Teaching hours are 10 LVS or a 2-3 courseload.
