To fill the W2 chair at the Institute of Sociology (IfS) in Münster with a
focus on methods of social research, the Faculty of Educational and
Social Science (FB 6) of the University of Münster (WWU) seeks to
appoint a
W2 professor of sociology in
„Methods of Social Research, with specialisation
in Dynamics of Social Structure“
for instatement at the Institute of Sociology (IfS) at the earliest possible
date.
The future appointee will be responsible for methodological training
which also includes quantitative (statistical) and qualitative approaches.
The candidate's research and teaching activities should empirically
focus on historical and contemporary changes in social structures. To
promote cooperation with other working areas of the IfS, the candidate
should possess research and teaching expertise in at least two of the
following areas: diversity, transformation of milieus, social dierentiation,
social inequality.
We expect the candidate to possess substantiated methodological
knowledge, visible research experience in at least one of the aforementioned
research fi elds, and experience in the area of third-party
funding acquisition. The appointed candidate will be involved in all
degree programmes o ered at the IfS (currently bachelor's, master's
and doctoral programmes) and should demonstrate a high degree of
commitment to research and the acquisition of third-party funding.
To be eligible for consideration, the candidate must possess extensive
academic experience obtained through an assistant professorship
(Juniorprofessur), habilitation (postdoctoral qualifi cation), or as a
member of the academic sta of a university.
