CIVIL STRUCTURE DESIGN AND ANALYSIS

The School of Civil Engineering is seeking applications from candidates for teaching and research at TUHH in the subject of Civil Structures with a focus on statics and structural dynamics. We are looking for a candidate with a strong publication record and experience in international and national research collaborations and acquiring third-party research grants. In addition to a Ph.D. in civil engineering, expertise in at least two of the following Fields is required:
- Numerical simulation-based design methods
- Structural and topology optimization
- Stochastic structural analysis (fuzziness in design)
- Adaptive and active systems
- Structures in and at water
- Structural dynamics
In the areas mentioned, there are excellent opportunities for cooperation within the School of Civil Engineering and TUHH. In addition to the development of such cooperations, the holder of the position is expected to contribute to the Fields of competence "Green Technologies" and "Aviation and Maritime Systems".
The successful candidate will offer courses in German and English as part of the degree programs of the School of Civil Engineering in close coordination with colleagues from TUHH and other Hamburg universities.
This appointment is due to commence in the 2022 summer term.
