Professorships in Computer Science (W3)
The newly established
Faculty of Computer Science has several tenure-track or tenured openings. The positions are part of a concerted effort to strengthen the existing faculty and to foster collaborations with the recently established Max Planck Institute for Security and Privacy (MPI-SP). We welcome outstanding applicants from all areas of computer science, including but not limited to:
- Foundations of Computer Science
- Programming Languages
- Software Engineering
- Data Science (Data Mining, Machine Learning, Big Data)
- Computer Architecture
Appointments will be made on the W3 level. Salaries and working conditions are internationally competitive.
Bochum offers a vibrant environment for computer science research. Candidates are expected to cooperate with MPI. We offer additional collaboration possibilities with the Cluster of Excellence "Cyber Security in the Age of Large-Scale Adversaries (CASA)", and our partner universities from the University Alliance Ruhr (TU Dortmund and University Duisburg-Essen). There is also ample opportunity to interact with Bochum’s well-developed start-up community, which includes a dedicated incubator. Our working language is English, knowledge of German is not required. Ruhr-University Bochum offers a family-friendly environment.
