Tenure Track Professorship (W1) in the Theory of Condensed Matter Physics
The University of Konstanz has been successful in the German Excellence
Initiative since 2007.
The Department of Physics of the Faculty of Sciences at the University of
Konstanz subject to the approval of the University Council and the Ministry
of Science, Research and the Arts Baden-Württemberg announces a
Tenure Track Professorship in the
Theory of Condensed Matter Physics
(salary category W1)
to be filled at the earliest possible date. The position is funded in the context
of the joint programme for the promotion of early career researchers by the
German federal and state-governments.
We are looking for an early career researcher who contributes to one or
several of the following research activities of the physics department:
statistical physics, new materials and nanostructures, soft condensed matter,
spintronics, optics and photonics, photovoltaics, quantum physics, quantum
information and ultrafast physics. Participation in current and future
collaborative research initiatives of the department as well as interdisciplinary
cooperation within the Faculty of Sciences are expected. The candidate will
represent her or his area of expertise in teaching on all levels in the degree
programmes offered by the department.
The position is a tenure track position leading to an appointment as a
W3 professor. If your evaluation is positive, you will obtain tenure as a
W3 professor after completing a simplified version of the professorial
