The Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Vienna is the largest Austrian institution of mathematical research and tertiary education in the mathematical sciences. It consists of active research groups in a wide range of fields, starting
from logical foundations, bridging all classical core subjects, and up to concrete applications in industry. As part of the Faculty, the Institute of Mathematics represents the entire discipline of mathematics in research and teaching, without making an arbitrary separation into pure and applied fields.
The position is vacant for the period of absence of a member of staff.
Duration of employment: 3 month/s
Extent of Employment: 40.0 hours/week
Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement: §48 VwGr. B1 lit. b (postdoc) with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade.
Job Description:
Applied Mathematics, in particular desired is research experience in mathematical imaging and/or optimization. Collaborations with the Sonderforschungsbereich „Tomography across the Scales“ on Superresolution microscopy are desired.

Profile:
- PhD in the field Mathematics / with focus on Applied Mathematics
- Professional, methodological and didactic skills and competence in the area of variation methods of mathematical image processing
- Experience in teaching / experience in e-learning
- Experience in knowledge management
- Experience in (external) fundraising
