The Max Planck Institute for Human Development is dedicated to the study of human development and education. Researchers of various disciplines – including psychology, education, sociology and medicine, as well as history, economics, computer science and mathematics – work together on interdisciplinary projects at the Berlin Institute. The research questions they examine include how people make effective decisions even under time pressure and information overload, how the interaction between behaviour and brain function changes over the lifespan, as well as how human emotions change in a historical context and how they have affected the course of history itself.
The Center for Humans and Machines, Max Planck Institute for Human Development, is seeking a
(E 9b TVöD; 39 hours/week)
The position is permanent and to be filled as soon as possible.
The multifaceted position includes office management, administrative coordination of the Center within the Institute, independent execution of correspondence in both English and German, scheduling and travel planning for the director, support of international collaborators and guests, conference and workshop organization, literature searches, and the creation of graphics and presentations.
We are looking for a friendly, dynamic, and reliable person who is able to work thoroughly and independently as well as being a confident and bright team player. Specifically, we are looking for candidates with extended experience in office administration. The successful applicant needs to have completed vocational training as a (foreign-language) secretary or have many years of experience in office and research organization. In addition, we expect profound computer skills, familiarity with productivity tools like Google docs/calendar/sheets, Trello or similar, and a high level of flexibility.
