Empirical economist as a post-doctoral researcher (f/m/d)
We are a research institute of the Max Planck Society for the Advancement of Science. The Munich Center for Economics of Aging (MEA) at the Max Planck Institute for Social Law and Social Policy studies, evaluates, anticipates and accompanies the micro- and macroeconomic
aspects of demographic change. For our research unit "Old-Age Provision and Social Policy" ("Alterssicherung und Sozialpolitik"), we are currently looking for an:
Empirical economist as a post-doctoral
with sound knowledge of econometrics and applied microeconomics as well as good knowledge of the German social security system, especially in the fields old-age provision and long-term care.
Experience with micro data sets relating to the above topics are especially welcome.
You will work on empirical research questions concerning actual demographic and political development in Germany. However, also worldwide trends, especially the
development in Europe, are part of our research. Popular research fields are retirement decisions, pension reform evaluation, insurance options, savings behavior,
provisions for long-term care, and similar questions.
Ph.D. in economics or close to finishing your Ph.D.,
Strong interest in public economics and economic policy analysis,
Profound knowledge of advanced econometrics and causal inference methods,
Experience in handling large micro data sets,
Programming experience in STATA (or similar software) and MatLab,
Fluency in English is required.

will be in accordance with TVöD and the relevant experience of the candidate ("Entgeltgruppe 13"). The place of employment is Munich.
