Karlshochschule places special emphasis on the personal development of its students. Unique to our university is the approach to
combine civic engagement with service learning. For the newly established Center for Civic Engagement and Responsible Management
Education "Karls" won a significant government grant by the state of Baden-Württemberg.
Hence effective from January 2019 or later we are looking for a:
Professorship in Civic Engagement, Ethics and Service Learning
At Karlshochschule you will be part of an innovative and committed team shaping the university in its mission to provide responsible management
education to future decision-makers. You will engage in applied critical teaching and research in the areas of your expertise, work with our
international faculty and student body, and develop global academic partnerships. Your interpretative and qualitative approach is reflected in
your publications. You naturally incorporate your own research into your teaching.
Our didactic approach is used to pursue interactive and constructivist teaching with case studies, role play, simulation, and project work. In
this sense, innovative didactics and team teaching with colleagues and individual mentoring of students is your passion, and not a must.
We are looking for a part-time or full-time candidate with the following profile:
Expertise in volunteering, collaboration with Volunteer Organizations and Global Active Citizenship in a national and international environment
Expertise in delivering student groups trainings in embodied ethicality, intercultural competence and experiential learning
Capability in coaching, professional empowerment, personal development
Proficiency in train the trainer education in order to empower our own coaches as well as partner organizations
Proven track record in impact research, quality assurance and curriculum development in formal and non-formal education
Can you see yourself in that role?
Are you able and willing, as a fluent or native speaker, to lecture in English and/or German? Do you hold a PhD or possess a specific ability to
scientific research according to § 47 LHG Baden-Württemberg and can you build on a minimum of 3 years work experience outside higher education?
Are you willing to collaborate in academic self-administration and, if required, to also assume responsibility?
