Professorship in the area of Critical Management Studies

In our study program, we provide responsible education to future change-makers. Our didactic approach
is based on a constructivist philosophy of teaching including interactive forms like case studies, groupwork,
role plays, simulations, or project work. In this sense, experiential and experimental didactics and
team teaching with colleagues and individual mentoring of students are your passion. We place special
emphasis on the personal development of our students offering service learning and fostering civic
engagement. Your interpretative and qualitative approach and research interests are reflected in your
scholarly activities and publications and incorporated in your teaching. You will engage in applied critical
teaching and research in the areas of your academic and practical expertise, work with our international
faculty and student body, and develop national and global academic partnerships.
Our “Department of Management & Culture” focuses on research and teaching in the interplay of
managerial practices, symbolic meanings, institutional logics and global challenges. We are open for and
interested in various approaches and theories such as practice theory, discourse analysis, critical theory,
cultural studies, systems theory, poststructuralist approaches, gender theory, critical management
studies, consumer culture theory and cultural turns.
For the next possible date, we are looking for a:
Professor in the area of Critical Management Studies (f/m/d)
Your profile should be a contribution to both the transformational approach of the university and the
aforementioned academic profile of the department. We are particularly interested in applicants who
combine a transdisciplinary perspective on management with an expertise in one of the major fields of
business studies, e.g. marketing, finance, organization studies or HR.
In addition to that you should be able to cover at least two of the following fields of expertise:
Participation, Democracy and Sensemaking in Organizations
Politics of Inclusion and Recognition in Organizations
Business Ethics and Aesthetics
Performativity and Rituals
Sustainability and Circular Economy
Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence

Proven track record in civic engagement, an international biography and practical working
Can you see yourself in that role? Are you able, as a fluent or native speaker, to lecture in English? Do
you hold a PhD with one of the above-mentioned specifications and can build on a minimum of 3 years
work experience outside higher education? Are you willing to collaborate in academic self-administration
