The Mathematical Physics group under the direction of Univ.-Prof. Dr. Stefan Fredenhagen at the Faculty of Physics, University of Vienna, conducts internationally leading research in the field of mathematical and theoretical physics. We are looking for a senior scientist with outstanding expertise in the theory and modeling of quantum structures of space-time in the context of fundamental interactions and gravity, to support the group in their on-going and future research. The position is offered for one year, with the possibility of unlimited employment depending on the qualification and experience of the candidate.
We expect the candidate to contribute to the goals of the mathematical physics group as a senior scientist in the context of quantum field theory, gravity, and generalized or non-commutative geometry. The position will include administration and teaching as regulated by the collective agreement. We invite applicants to submit their curriculum vitae, letter of intent, diplomas and publication list.
You should have a doctoral degree in theoretical physics, several years of research experience and a proven track record in mathematical and theoretical physics, with expertise in matrix models, noncommutative geometry, quantum field theory and gravity.
Proven ability to acquire third-party funds will be valued.Teaching experience and experience in supervision of students is highly desirable.
